Jim Paton

Jim has a wealth of knowledge, experience, and connections in the agricultural and swine industry.

Born and raised near Aylmer Ontario, Jim grew up on a mixed farming operation of chicken and dairy,

then went on to add beef and pigs. In the early 90’s Jim began his “off farm” career in Thamesford for

an integrated company where he worked for over 25 years. During his time there, he was kept busy

managing nursery and finisher contract barns and various other roles within the company. Jim was

the Production Manager near Tillsonburg from 2017 to 2020, Then in September of 2020, Jim joined

the Production Team at South West Ontario Veterinary Services, Jim’s work varies from day to day

as he assists vets and clients with herd health, management, production as well as a variety of

specialized work. Jim is responsible for helping maintain pig health, with lots of barn walkthroughs,

Jim provides a fresh set of eyes to identify areas needing support whether it’s pig health or

ventilation.
