Christa Arsenault

Christa is a Lead Veterinarian in the Animal Health and Welfare Branch, Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and is the OMAFRA co-lead for the Ontario Animal Health Swine Network(OAHN).  She has been involved in the swine industry since graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2006. Christa has worked in private practice, as well as with both the federal government working for Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and provincial government working for OMAFRA over the span of her career. Christa also held the role of National African Swine Fever (ASF) Project Manager with Animal Health Canada from Apr 2021-Mar 2022.  She has sat on the board of the Ontario Association of Swine Veterinarians (OASV) and held the role of President twice for this organization. Christa Arsenault is also the manager of the Canadian Swine Health Intelligence Network (CSHIN) which is a national swine surveillance network.  She is married and has 2 children (Alice age 12 and Eric age 9), and a Labrador retriever (Sawyer).  Her family has a cottage located in the Muskoka’s where they love to relax and spend time together.
